Job Summary:
Clinical Care:
Provide direct patient care in the emergency department under the supervision of attending physicians.
Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical emergencies, including trauma, cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and neurological emergencies.
Conduct initial assessments, order diagnostic tests, interpret results, and initiate appropriate treatment plans.
Perform emergency procedures such as intubation, central line placement, and CPR as necessary.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
Teaching and Supervision:
Supervise and mentor junior residents, interns, and medical students during their rotations in the emergency department.
Conduct teaching sessions, case discussions, and simulation exercises to enhance the education of medical trainees.
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to learners to facilitate their professional development.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and research activities.
Assist in the development and implementation of protocols and guidelines for emergency care.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient encounters.
Continuing Education and Professional Development:
Stay updated with the latest advancements in emergency medicine through attending conferences, workshops, and continuing medical education activities.
Pursue opportunities for research, publication, and academic advancement within the field.
Emergency Preparedness and Public Health:
Contribute to disaster preparedness efforts and mass casualty management plans.
Participate in community outreach programs, health education initiatives, and public health campaigns to promote injury prevention and emergency preparedness.
Qualifications:
MBBS degree from a recognized medical college.
Completion of residency training in Emergency Medicine.
Registration with the Indian Medical Commision (NMC) or state medical council.
Demonstrated clinical competency in emergency care, including proficiency in emergency procedures.
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to patient-centered care, professionalism, and continuous learning.
Experience:
Prior experience in emergency medicine residency training preferred.
Experience in teaching, research, or administrative roles would be advantageous.
