We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Associate Professor in General Surgery to join our esteemed medical college. Key Responsibilities
Academic Duties:
Teach and train MBBS, MS, and other medical students in General Surgery, following the Medical Council of India (MCI)/NMC guidelines.
Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, and clinical teaching sessions.
Supervise practicals, ward rounds, and surgical case discussions.
Mentor and guide students in research projects, dissertations, and clinical case studies.
Contribute to curriculum development and implementation.
Clinical Responsibilities:
Perform and supervise surgical procedures in alignment with institutional policies.
Participate in patient care services, including outpatient and inpatient duties.
Provide guidance and hands-on training to residents and junior faculty during surgeries.
Research:
Engage in research activities, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and present at conferences.
Collaborate with other departments for interdisciplinary research initiatives.
Mentor students and junior faculty in research methodology and execution.
Administrative Roles:
Participate in departmental and institutional committee meetings.
Assist in organizing workshops, CMEs (Continuing Medical Education), and conferences.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Qualifications
Essential:
MBBS and MS in General Surgery (or equivalent qualifications as per NMC norms).
Minimum 4 years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in a recognized medical institution.
Publications in indexed journals as per NMC/MCI requirements for Associate Professor eligibility.
Desirable:
Fellowship or advanced training in specialized areas of General Surgery.
Experience in medical education technology or curriculum design.
Skills and Competencies
