Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Academic Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, and clinical teaching sessions in Pulmonary Medicine to undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD/DNB) students.
Develop and update the pulmonology curriculum to meet current medical advancements and guidelines.
Guide students in their research, dissertations, and thesis projects.
Participate in the evaluation and assessment processes.
Clinical Duties:
Oversee and provide expertise in managing patients with respiratory disorders, including asthma, COPD, tuberculosis, interstitial lung diseases, and critical care cases.
Supervise residents, interns, and junior faculty during clinical rounds.
Lead the development and implementation of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (e.g., bronchoscopy, pulmonary function tests).
Research and Publications:
Conduct and promote research activities in the field of Pulmonary Medicine.
Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national/international conferences.
Administrative Duties:
Participate in departmental and institutional management, including curriculum planning and policy-making.
Mentor and evaluate the performance of junior faculty and medical staff.
Community Engagement:
Organize and participate in medical camps, workshops, and awareness programs on respiratory health.
Collaborate with public health initiatives targeting respiratory diseases like tuberculosis.
Qualifications and Experience:
Educational Requirements:
MD/DNB in Pulmonary Medicine/Respiratory Medicine or equivalent recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
Additional qualifications (e.g., DM in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine) are desirable but not mandatory.
Professional Experience:
Minimum of 8-10 years of teaching experience in a recognized medical college, with at least 4 years as an Associate Professor in Pulmonary Medicine.
Proven clinical expertise in managing complex respiratory cases and performing advanced procedures.
