Job Summary:
We invite application for the post of General Surgeon Assistant Professor to a reputed medical college in Nagercoil.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Professor in General Surgery to join our esteemed faculty at
Medical College. The candidate will contribute to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students,
conducting research, and offering clinical expertise in the department of general surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Academic Duties:
Deliver high-quality lectures, clinical demonstrations, and tutorials to MBBS and postgraduate students.
Supervise and mentor students in academic and clinical settings.
Develop innovative teaching methodologies to enhance student learning.
Prepare and update course materials, including lectures, practicals, and assignments.
Clinical Duties:
Participate in clinical services, including patient care, surgeries, and emergency procedures.
Supervise residents and trainees in hospital wards, operation theatres, and outpatient departments.
Ensure high standards of patient safety and clinical care.
Research and Development:
Conduct and publish original research in the field of general surgery.
Guide students and residents in research projects and thesis work.
Seek funding opportunities for departmental research initiatives.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Participate in departmental meetings and curriculum planning activities.
Assist in organizing conferences, workshops, and continuing medical education (CME) programs.
Comply with college policies, Medical Council of India (MCI)/National Medical Commission (NMC) regulations, and quality standards.
Qualifications and Requirements:
MBBS and MS (General Surgery) from an institution recognized by the MCI/NMC.
Minimum of 1-5 years of teaching or clinical experience post-MS (preferred).
Must be registered with the Medical Council of India or a State Medical Council.
Strong communication, teaching, and clinical skills.
Proven research experience with publications in indexed journals (preferred).
