Job Summary:

Clinical Care: Provide comprehensive cardiology care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of various cardiac conditions. This involves conducting thorough examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests such as ECGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests, and developing appropriate treatment plans.

Consultation Services: Offer expert consultation services to patients referred by primary care physicians or other specialists within the hospital. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.

Inpatient Management: Oversee the care of cardiology patients admitted to the hospital. This includes regular patient rounds, monitoring progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals involved in patient care.

Outpatient Clinics: Conduct regular outpatient clinics to evaluate new patients, follow up with existing patients, and provide ongoing management of chronic cardiac conditions. Educate patients and their families about their conditions and treatment options.

Interventional Procedures: Perform cardiac catheterization procedures, angioplasty, stent placement, and other interventional cardiology procedures as required. Ensure adherence to best practices and safety protocols during procedures.

Emergency Response: Be available for on-call duties to respond to cardiac emergencies within the hospital, such as myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, and heart failure exacerbations. Provide timely intervention and stabilize patients in critical conditions.

Education and Training: Actively participate in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows rotating through the cardiology department. Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiology through continuous medical education activities.

Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the cardiology department and the hospital as a whole. Participate in clinical audits, research projects, and outcome evaluations to enhance patient care and safety.

Administrative Duties: Fulfill administrative responsibilities related to patient documentation, billing, and compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with hospital management to optimize departmental operations and resource utilization.

Qualifications:
Medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized institution
Postgraduate specialization (DM/DNB) in Cardiology
Valid medical license to practice in Tamil Nadu
Fellowship or additional training in interventional cardiology preferred
Board certification or eligibility in Cardiology Excellent clinical skills, communication skills, and ability to work effectively
in a team environment
