Job Summary:
We invite application for the post of Ophthalmology Assistant Professor doctor to a reputed medical college in Chennai Tamil Nadu.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Academic Duties:
Deliver lectures, conduct practical sessions, and supervise clinical rotations for MBBS and postgraduate students.
Develop and update curriculum, teaching materials, and assessment methods as per NMC (National Medical Commission) guidelines.
Mentor and guide students in their academic, clinical, and research endeavors.
Participate in departmental seminars, workshops, and conferences.
Clinical Responsibilities:
Provide patient care in outpatient, inpatient, and surgical settings within the ophthalmology department.
Supervise junior doctors, postgraduate trainees, and other staff during clinical rounds and procedures.
Perform specialized diagnostic and therapeutic ophthalmic procedures.
Research & Development:
Conduct and publish research in peer-reviewed journals.
Collaborate with colleagues on research projects and clinical trials.
Stay updated on advancements in ophthalmology and integrate them into teaching and practice.
Administrative Duties:
Assist in managing departmental activities, including scheduling, resource management, and quality assurance.
Contribute to the accreditation process and institutional audits.
Qualifications & Skills:
Educational Qualifications:
MBBS and MD/MS/DNB in Ophthalmology from a recognized institution.
Valid registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI)/NMC.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-3 years of teaching or clinical experience post MD/MS/DNB (as per NMC norms).
Skills:
Proficiency in teaching methodologies and clinical practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated commitment to patient care and medical education.
Research aptitude with the ability to publish in indexed journals.
