Job Summary:
Clinical Care:
Provide direct patient care in the emergency department, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients presenting with a wide range of medical conditions and emergencies.
Perform procedures commonly required in the emergency setting, such as intubation, central line placement, lumbar puncture, and fracture reduction.
Supervise junior residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals in the emergency department.
Collaborate with other specialists and departments for comprehensive patient care.
Teaching and Education:
Participate in the teaching and training of medical students, interns, and junior residents rotating through the emergency department.
Conduct didactic sessions, case discussions, and simulation exercises to enhance the educational experience of learners.
Stay updated with the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines in emergency medicine and incorporate them into teaching sessions.
Research:
Engage in scholarly activities, including research projects, case studies, and quality improvement initiatives within the emergency department.
Collaborate with faculty members and other researchers to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in emergency medicine.
Present research findings at conferences and publish articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Administrative Duties:
Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and quality improvement projects as required.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and protocols related to emergency care.
Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to optimize patient care and departmental operations.
Continuing Medical Education (CME):
Actively participate in continuing medical education activities to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars related to emergency medicine.
Emergency Preparedness:
Contribute to disaster preparedness plans and participate in drills and exercises to ensure readiness for mass casualty incidents and other emergencies.
