We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified individual for the position of Professor of Forensic Medicine. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in forensic medicine and toxicology, excellent teaching skills, and a passion for mentoring medical students and junior faculty members.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Academic Duties:
Deliver lectures, practical demonstrations, and seminars in forensic medicine and toxicology for undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD Forensic Medicine) students.
Design and update curriculum and teaching materials as per the guidelines of the National Medical Commission (NMC).
Supervise dissertations, research projects, and thesis work of postgraduate students.
Conduct assessments, including theory and practical examinations.
Research and Development:
Engage in research activities, publish papers in indexed journals, and apply for grants.
Encourage and mentor students and junior faculty members to pursue research.
Administrative and Clinical Duties:
Provide medico-legal consultation and handle cases referred to the department.
Guide the preparation of medico-legal reports and ensure adherence to legal protocols.
Manage departmental activities, including teaching schedules, resources, and coordination with other departments.
Professional Development:
Attend and contribute to national and international conferences, workshops, and CME programs.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in forensic medicine and toxicology.
Mentorship and Collaboration:
Act as a mentor to junior faculty, residents, and medical students.
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and legal professionals when required.
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
MD in Forensic Medicine/Forensic Medicine & Toxicology from a recognized institution.
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of teaching experience as per NMC norms, with at least 3 years as an Associate Professor in a recognized medical college.
Publications:
A proven record of research with publications in indexed, peer-reviewed journals.
Other Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
