Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced General Surgeon Professor to join our esteemed medical college. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality education to medical students, conducting research, and offering surgical expertise in our affiliated hospital. Key Responsibilities:
Teaching:
Deliver comprehensive lectures and conduct practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
Develop and update curriculum to meet the current standards and advancements in the field of general surgery.
Supervise and mentor students in clinical settings, ensuring they acquire practical skills and knowledge.
Prepare and evaluate student assessments, exams, and provide constructive feedback.
Clinical Duties:
Perform surgeries and provide preoperative and postoperative care to patients.
Supervise and guide residents and junior doctors in the surgical department.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss and plan patient care.
Ensure compliance with medical college and hospital policies, procedures, and standards.
Research:
Conduct and supervise clinical and academic research in the field of general surgery.
Publish research findings in reputable medical journals.
Encourage and guide students and junior doctors in research projects.
Seek funding opportunities and collaborate with other departments for interdisciplinary research.
Administrative Duties:
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies.
Assist in the recruitment and evaluation of faculty and staff.
Contribute to the accreditation and quality assurance processes of the medical college.
Engage in continuous professional development and attend relevant conferences and seminars.
Qualifications:
MBBS and MS/DNB in General Surgery from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 8 to 20 years of experience in teaching and clinical practice.
Proven track record of research and publications in reputable journals.
Registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or applicable state medical council.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
