Job Summary:
The Professor of General Medicine will be responsible for providing high-quality education and training to medical students, residents, and fellows. This position requires a combination of clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities. The professor will work in a hospital setting, contributing to patient care while fostering an environment of academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:


Teaching and Education:
Deliver lectures and clinical instruction to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. Develop and update the curriculum for the General Medicine department. Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, and junior faculty members. Conduct and oversee practical training sessions, including clinical rounds and case discussions.

Clinical Duties:
Provide comprehensive medical care to patients in the hospital. Diagnose and treat a wide range of general medical conditions. Participate in outpatient and inpatient services, including ward rounds and specialty clinics. Collaborate with other departments to ensure multidisciplinary care for patients.

Research:
Conduct clinical and/or basic research in the field of General Medicine. Publish research findings in reputable medical journals. Encourage and guide students and residents in research activities. Secure research grants and funding for departmental projects.

Administrative Responsibilities:
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to policy and procedure development. Assist in the recruitment and evaluation of faculty and staff. Ensure compliance with hospital and medical college regulations and standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation processes.

Professional Development:
Stay updated with the latest advancements in General Medicine through continuous medical education (CME). Attend and present at national and international conferences and seminars. Engage in professional societies and organizations related to General Medicine.

Qualifications:
MD or DNB in General Medicine. A minimum of 8-15 years of teaching and clinical experience in a reputed medical college or hospital. Proven track record of research and publications in peer-reviewed journals. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Commitment to academic excellence and patient care.
