Job Summary:
The Assistant Professor in General Medicine is responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, conducting research, and providing clinical care. This role involves contributing to the academic environment of the medical college through high-quality teaching, research, and clinical services.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching:
Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical classes in General Medicine. Develop and update the curriculum for General Medicine courses. Mentor and guide undergraduate and postgraduate students. Supervise clinical training and bedside teaching in hospital wards and outpatient departments.

Research: Conduct and publish high-quality research in the field of General Medicine. Apply for and manage research grants. Supervise research projects of postgraduate students and junior faculty members.

Clinical Duties: Provide clinical care to patients in hospital wards and outpatient departments. Participate in the on-call rota for the department. Lead and participate in clinical rounds, case discussions, and morbidity and mortality meetings. Ensure the delivery of evidence-based medical care.

Administrative Responsibilities: Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to policy and decision-making processes. Assist in the organization of conferences, workshops, and continuing medical education (CME) programs. Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Head of the Department or the Dean.

Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development and stay updated with the latest advancements in General Medicine. Attend and present at national and international conferences and seminars.

Qualifications: MBBS and MD/DNB in General Medicine from a recognized institution. Additional qualifications like fellowships or PhDs are preferred. A valid registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or respective State Medical Council.

Experience: A minimum of 1-4 years of teaching experience in General Medicine at a medical college. Proven track record of clinical competence and research publications.

Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership and organizational abilities. Proficiency in using medical education technology and software. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
