About the Project Director Role
A construction company in Dubai is hiring a Project Director to lead the delivery of a flagship mega-project, providing executive leadership over all project functions including design, construction, commercial and HSE.
Candidates with Chartered Engineer status, PMP and 15 or more years of construction project leadership with mega-project directorship experience in the UAE or GCC are preferred.
Key Responsibilities

Mega-Project Leadership
Provide executive leadership for the assigned mega-project; set project vision, governance frameworks and performance standards across all delivery functions.

Executive Client Interface
Serve as the construction company's most senior representative on the project; manage the executive client relationship and lead monthly steering committee meetings.

Delivery Accountability
Own delivery of the project to the agreed time, cost and quality targets; intervene at senior level to address programme delays, cost overruns or quality failures.

Commercial Leadership
Lead the project commercial function; oversee contract administration, variation management, claims strategy and final account negotiations.

Governance
Establish and chair the project governance structure including executive steering committees, risk review boards and lessons-learned forums.
Candidate Requirements

Education
B.E or M.E in Civil Engineering; PMP from PMI and Chartered Engineer status with ICE or equivalent are mandatory for this project director role.

Experience
Minimum 15 years in construction with at least 5 years as Project Director on mega-projects above AED 2 billion in the UAE; proven record of successful delivery.

Commercial Expertise
Expert FIDIC contract knowledge, claims management experience and proven track record of delivering mega-projects within commercial parameters in Dubai.

Exceptional executive presence, proven ability to manage complex multi-stakeholder environments and outstanding client relationship management skills.
