About the Clinical Pharmacist Role
A hospital in Al Ain is hiring a Clinical Pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care, conduct medication therapy reviews and support clinical teams in safe medication management.
Candidates with a Pharm.D or B.Pharm, DHA license and clinical pharmacy experience in a JCI-accredited hospital in the UAE or GCC are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities

Medication Therapy Management
Review patient medication profiles for appropriateness, interactions and contraindications; collaborate with physicians to optimise drug therapy outcomes.

Ward Rounds
Participate in clinical ward rounds with medical teams; provide evidence-based pharmacotherapy recommendations and answer drug information queries.

Antimicrobial Stewardship
Lead antimicrobial stewardship activities; review antibiotic prescriptions, culture results and promote appropriate antibiotic use across the hospital.

Patient Counselling
Counsel patients and caregivers on complex medication regimens, high-risk medications and adherence strategies upon admission and at discharge.

Formulary Management
Support pharmacy and therapeutics committee activities; evaluate new drug requests, prepare drug monographs and manage hospital formulary updates.
Candidate Requirements

Education
Pharm.D or B.Pharm from a recognised university; DHA pharmacist license is mandatory; PGY1 residency or clinical pharmacy fellowship is an advantage.

Experience
4 to 8 years of clinical pharmacy experience in an acute care hospital; ICU, oncology or infectious disease pharmacy experience is highly preferred.

Clinical Skills
Strong pharmacotherapy knowledge; experience with clinical decision support tools, TDM, IV-to-oral conversion and total parenteral nutrition management.

Soft Skills
Effective interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary team working, strong evidence-based research skills and ability to mentor junior pharmacy staff.
