About the Laminator Operator Role
Laminator Operator runs solventless/solvent lamination machines to bond printed films (BOPP/PET) with lamination films (PE/CPP/metalized films).
Responsible for adhesive mixing, roller nip pressure, curing tunnel control and achieving lamination bond strength during 12-hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities
-
Machine Setup & Web Path
Thread primary/secondary webs through lamination rollers, set nip pressure (2-4 kg/cm²), align corona treated surface for bonding.
-
Adhesive Application
For solventless: mix polyurethane adhesive (100:60 ratio), apply 1.2-1.8 gsm coating weight. For solvent: control gravure roll application.
-
Curing Tunnel Control
Maintain curing tunnel 60-80°C (solventless) or 40-50°C (solvent), control web speed 100-200 m/min, ensure proper adhesive curing.
-
Lamination Quality Check
Test bond strength (>1.5 N/15mm), check delamination, tunneling, adhesive spots every 30 mins, maintain <1% rejection rate.
-
Machine Changeover
Clean gravure rolls, flush adhesive lines, change nip rolls within 45 minutes, minimize substrate wastage <2% per job change.
Candidate Requirements
-
Education
ITI / Diploma in Printing/Plastic Technology or 10th/12th pass with lamination experience.
-
Experience
1–4 years operating solventless/solvent lamination machines in flexible packaging industry.
-
Skills
Adhesive mixing, nip pressure control, curing tunnel operation, lamination quality testing, web handling.
-
Other Requirements
12-hour rotational shifts, solvent exposure tolerance, physically fit for machine operation, immediately joinable.
