Role Overview

The HR Manager will lead the human resources function for the packaging plant, partnering closely with factory leadership and line managers. The position is responsible for building the right manpower, maintaining statutory and legal compliance, driving performance and culture and ensuring harmonious employee relations on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manpower Planning & Recruitment

    Prepare annual and monthly manpower plans with plant heads, manage end‑to‑end recruitment for staff and workers, coordinate with agencies and internal references and ensure timely onboarding to avoid line disruptions.

  • Onboarding, Induction & HR Processes

    Design and run structured joining formalities, induction programs and initial training for new hires; ensure employee data, files, ID cards, attendance and HR systems are updated accurately from day one.

  • Statutory Compliance & IR

    Ensure adherence to all applicable labour laws and factory‑related statutes (PF, ESI, gratuity, minimum wages, contract labour, standing orders, etc.), maintain statutory registers and handle inspections, notices and returns in coordination with management and consultants; manage unions/worker representatives where applicable and maintain cordial industrial relations.

  • Attendance, Payroll Input & Policies

    Monitor attendance, shifts, overtime and leave, verify and provide accurate inputs for payroll processing and support implementation of HR policies on discipline, leave, timings, safety and code of conduct across all levels in the plant.

  • Performance Management & Development

    Drive the performance appraisal process at plant level, support HODs in goal setting and review discussions, identify training needs and coordinate functional/behavioural training programs for staff and workmen skill upgrades in line with business requirements.

  • Employee Relations, Engagement & Welfare

    Act as a point of contact for employee grievances, conduct counselling and disciplinary actions as per approved process, run engagement and communication initiatives, and oversee canteen, transport, hostel, safety and other welfare activities to improve morale and retention.

Candidate Profile

  • Education

    MBA / PGDM in HR, MSW (HR) or equivalent full‑time HR qualification from a recognised institute; additional certifications in labour law or industrial relations will be an advantage for this plant‑based role.

  • Experience

    6–12 years of HR experience in manufacturing, packaging, printing or similar industries, with at least 3–4 years independently handling plant HR / factory HR responsibilities including compliance and employee relations.

  • Technical & Legal Knowledge

    Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws, factory rules and HR best practices, hands‑on experience in PF, ESI, gratuity, contract labour, standing orders, disciplinary procedures and exposure to IR/union handling will be preferred.

  • Behavioural Skills

    Good communication in English and local language, ability to connect with both management and workers, high integrity, conflict‑handling skills, problem‑solving approach and comfort working on the shop floor on a regular basis.

  • Work Environment

    Plant‑based role at Noida in general shift with flexibility to extend hours when required for shifts, audits, inspections, counselling or crisis handling; occasional travel to corporate office, labour office or training programmes may be needed.
