Role Overview

Graphic Designer – Packaging is responsible for developing and adapting packaging artworks for flexible packaging, converting customer designs into production-ready files and coordinating with prepress and production for error‑free printing. Key Responsibilities

  • Artwork Creation & Adaptation
    Create new packaging designs and adapt existing customer artworks for different SKUs, pack sizes and substrates while following brand guidelines and brief from sales/marketing. [web:50][web:52][web:56]
  • Prepress & Print-Ready Files
    Prepare print-ready files for rotogravure/flexo printing using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and related tools; manage trapping, overprint, step & repeat, color separations and dielines as per machine and cylinder/plate requirements. [web:55][web:58]
  • Proofing & Color Management
    Generate digital/plotter proofs, review and get approvals from customers; coordinate shade cards, color references and match on-press shades with approved proofs in coordination with ink and production teams. [web:55][web:57]
  • Technical Coordination
    Work closely with prepress vendors, cylinder/plate suppliers and internal production team to ensure correct file output, cylinder layout, barcodes, QR codes, nutrition tables and statutory declarations on the pack. [web:55][web:58]
  • Quality & Error Control
    Check artworks for spelling, alignment, bleed, registration, barcode scannability and legal content; support root cause analysis for print complaints related to design, color or artwork errors and implement preventive actions. [web:50][web:56][web:57]
  • Library & Documentation
    Maintain structured artwork library, version control and backups; update design master files for each customer/SKU and support quick retrieval during repeat orders and audits. [web:55][web:58]

Candidate Profile

  • Educational Qualification
    Diploma / Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, Printing Technology or related field from a recognized institute. [web:50][web:51][web:57]
  • Experience Required
    2–6 years experience as Graphic Designer / Packaging Designer / Prepress Designer in flexible packaging, labels, cartons or FMCG packaging environment. [web:50][web:54][web:59]
  • Technical Skills
    Strong hands‑on skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign; understanding of color modes, resolution, vector vs raster, print processes (gravure/flexo/offset) and packaging materials (films, laminates, cartons, labels). [web:50][web:52][web:57]
