Role Overview

Business Development Manager – Packaging is responsible for driving growth by acquiring new customers, scaling existing strategic accounts and opening new segments for the company’s packaging products. The role involves solution‑oriented selling, close collaboration with internal teams and strong market understanding to position the plant as a preferred packaging partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Business Development
    Identify and develop new customers across FMCG, food, personal care, pharma, industrial and other sectors; build a strong funnel through mapping, networking, cold calls and industry connects.
  • Key Account Management
    Own and grow key accounts by understanding their packaging roadmap, proposing new solutions, increasing share‑of‑business and ensuring high service levels for long‑term partnerships.
  • Solution Selling & Projects
    Work with design, technical and production teams to develop customised packaging structures, formats and cost‑effective options; lead technical discussions, trials and approvals with customers.
  • Commercials, Pricing & Margins
    Prepare proposals and contracts, negotiate commercials, track profitability by customer and project and ensure alignment with company margin and credit policies at all times.
  • Planning & Market Intelligence
    Contribute to annual sales plans and segment strategies, monitor market trends and competitor activity and share regular insights with management for portfolio and capacity planning decisions.
  • Team Collaboration & Reporting
    Coordinate with sales executives/officers, supply chain, quality and finance teams, drive disciplined use of CRM/ERP and present periodic MIS on pipeline, conversions and key account performance.

Candidate Profile

  • Educational Qualification
    Graduate in Engineering, Science or Commerce; MBA/PGDM in Marketing, Sales or International Business will be preferred for senior profiles.
  • Experience Required
    6–12 years experience in packaging, printing, plastics or related industries with strong exposure to B2B sales, business development and key account management.
  • Technical & Commercial Skills
    Good understanding of packaging formats and materials, basic knowledge of printing and converting processes, costing elements, contracts and commercial terms used in packaging business.
  • Behavioural Competencies
    Strong communication and negotiation skills, strategic and analytical thinking, result orientation, ability to work independently and influence senior stakeholders at customer organisations.
  • Work Conditions
    Role based out of Noida with frequent travel to customer locations and occasional visits to other regions; flexibility for client meetings, reviews and industry events as per business needs.
