About the Planning & Design Engineer – Telecom/FTTH Role
Hiring Planning and Design Engineers to a Telecom Company in Firozabad to plan and design broadband, FTTH and telecom access networks for residential colonies, commercial zones and industrial areas.
Candidates with skills in GIS-based network planning, AutoCAD drafting, fibre route design and capacity planning for GPON/FTTH networks are preferred for these roles.
Key Responsibilities
- FTTH Network Planning
Plan FTTH fibre routes, splitter locations, ODF distribution and cable routes for new residential and commercial zones in Firozabad.
- GIS-Based Design
Use GIS tools and AutoCAD to prepare fibre route maps, BoQ and design documentation for network expansion projects.
- Feasibility & Capacity Planning
Assess feasibility of new area expansion, estimate subscriber counts, design capacity and prepare cost benefit analysis for management.
- Design Review & Approvals
Review and approve fibre network designs submitted by vendors; coordinate with CMDA and civic bodies for RoW permissions in Firozabad.
- As-Built Documentation
Maintain accurate as-built fibre network documentation, update GIS databases post-implementation and support audit requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Education
B.E./B.Tech in ECE, Telecom or IT; certification in GIS or AutoCAD is an advantage for network design roles.
- Experience
2-7 years in telecom or FTTH network planning and design at ISPs, Telecom or infrastructure planning company.
- Technical Skills
Proficiency in GIS tools (QGIS, Google Earth Pro), AutoCAD, GPON network design, fibre route planning and BoQ preparation.
- Analytical Skills
Ability to analyse subscriber data, traffic forecasts and prepare capacity plans; strong documentation and reporting skills.
