About the IP Core Network Engineer Role
Telecom and ISPs in Firozabad are hiring IP Core Network Engineers to design, configure and operate the IP/MPLS core and backbone network infrastructure that carries broadband, voice and enterprise traffic.
Candidates with hands-on experience in Cisco or Juniper router platforms, MPLS, BGP, OSPF and telecom IP core architecture, preferably with CCNP or CCIE certification, are preferred for these specialist roles.
Key Responsibilities
- IP/MPLS Core Configuration
Configure and manage IP/MPLS core routers and switches (Cisco ASR, Juniper MX) including BGP, OSPF, LDP, RSVP-TE and traffic engineering policies.
- Core Network Design
Design IP routing architecture, addressing plans and MPLS topology for new network expansions and technology upgrades in Firozabad circle.
- Peering & Transit Management
Manage BGP peering with upstream ISPs, IX peers and CDN providers; optimise routing policies for traffic performance and cost.
- Core Network Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve complex IP core network issues including routing anomalies, packet loss and latency problems affecting broadband services.
- Capacity & Performance Management
Monitor core network bandwidth utilisation and latency trends; plan and execute capacity upgrades to prevent congestion on backbone links.
Candidate Requirements
- Education
B.E./B.Tech in ECE or CSE from a recognised university; CCNP/CCIE R&S or SP, or Juniper JNCIP/JNCIE certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience
3-9 years in IP core network engineering at a telecom operator, ISP or carrier-grade networking environment in Firozabad or other metros.
- Technical Skills
Deep expertise in Cisco IOS-XE/XR and Juniper Junos; proficiency in BGP, OSPF, MPLS-TE, VPLS, L3VPN and traffic engineering.
- Problem-Solving
Strong analytical skills for complex IP routing problem diagnosis; experience handling P1/P2 core network incidents is essential.
