About the RF Engineer – Nokia Role

Nokia is hiring RF Engineers at its Thoothukudi managed services delivery centre to perform 4G LTE and 5G NR radio network planning, optimisation and performance management for Indian telecom operator customers.

Candidates with Nokia RF planning tools experience, hands-on drive testing using TEMS or Nemo Outdoor, Nokia NRS certification and deep knowledge of 4G/5G radio network KPIs are preferred for these roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • 4G/5G RF Planning

    Plan and design 4G LTE and 5G NR radio access network configurations for Nokia's operator clients in the Thoothukudi cluster.

  • Drive Test & Field Measurement

    Conduct RF drive tests using TEMS Investigation and Nemo Outdoor; collect and process field measurement data for KPI analysis.

  • Network Optimisation

    Analyse Nokia AirScale network KPIs; implement RF parameter changes for coverage, capacity and interference optimisation.

  • Nokia Specific Tooling

    Use Nokia NetAct, NROPS and Nokia Network Services Platform for performance data extraction and RF configuration management.

  • Performance Reporting

    Prepare weekly RF performance reports including KPI trends, drive test coverage maps and optimisation action status for operator customers.

Candidate Requirements

  • Education

    B.E./B.Tech in ECE or Telecom from a recognised university; Nokia NRS I or NRS II certification is strongly preferred.

  • Experience

    2-8 years in RF planning or optimisation with Nokia, Ericsson or Huawei network equipment at a telecom operator or managed services company.

  • Technical Skills

    Proficiency in Nokia tools (NetAct, NROPS); drive test tools (TEMS, Nemo); post-processing software (ACTIX or Nokia NROPS Analyser).

  • Technology Knowledge

    Strong knowledge of 4G LTE air interface, 5G NR, Nokia AirScale RAN, antenna configuration and SINR/RSRP optimisation techniques.
