Role Overview
Interior Designer jobs in Salem for a company involve meeting clients, understanding their lifestyle, space requirements and budget and converting them into creative, functional interior design solutions for homes and offices.
You will prepare 2D layout plans and 3D views, suggest themes, colours, materials and furniture, and coordinate with project managers, vendors and site supervisors to ensure designs are executed as per approved drawings and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Interact with clients to understand requirements, style preferences, site measurements and budget for interior projects.
- Prepare space plans, furniture layouts and detailed 2D drawings using CAD or similar design software.
- Create 3D visualisations, mood boards and presentations to help clients visualise proposed interior designs.
- Select and specify materials, finishes, laminates, paints, lighting, furniture and décor items as per concept.
- Prepare basic BOQs and coordinate with purchase / vendor teams for quotations and material finalisation.
- Work closely with carpenters, electricians, civil team and other contractors to ensure design intent is followed at site.
- Visit project sites regularly to monitor work progress, check quality and resolve design‑related issues.
- Ensure projects are completed within approved design, cost and timeline, while maintaining brand and quality standards.
Candidate Profile
- Diploma / Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field; freshers and experienced designers can apply.
- 0–3 years experience as Interior Designer in residential, commercial or modular furniture projects.
- Good design sense, creativity and understanding of space planning, colour combinations and materials.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3Ds Max or similar design tools along with MS Office.
- Strong communication skills, client‑handling ability and willingness to visit sites within Salem as required.
