Role Overview

Collection / Recovery Manager jobs in Salem for a finance company involve leading the loan collection team, monitoring overdue EMI buckets and ensuring timely recovery of dues from customers.

You will handle tele‑calling and field collection teams, plan collection strategies, review portfolio performance and coordinate with legal and credit teams to keep delinquencies under control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and guide a team of collection executives (tele‑calling and field) for a specific location or portfolio.
  • Monitor daily collection reports, bucket wise overdues, flow rates and recovery from different loan products (personal loan, business loan, vehicle loan, LAP, etc.).
  • Plan and execute collection strategies for soft, hard and write‑off buckets to achieve monthly recovery and resolution targets.
  • Review non‑contactable and skip cases, drive skip tracing, address verification and field visits through the team or agencies.
  • Negotiate with customers for part payments, settlements, restructuring or revised payment plans as per company policy.
  • Ensure proper issue of notices, pre‑legal and legal follow‑up in coordination with legal team wherever required.
  • Maintain strong documentation, call records, visit reports and ensure correct updation of collection activities in system.
  • Track agency performance (if applicable), resolve field escalations and ensure collection practices follow RBI and company guidelines.
  • Prepare daily / weekly / monthly MIS on collection performance and present to branch / regional heads.

Candidate Profile

  • Any degree with 4–10 years experience in collections / recovery in a bank, NBFC or finance company.
  • Good understanding of retail loan products, EMI structure, bounce / penalty charges and field collection processes.
  • Strong negotiation skills, ability to handle tough customer conversations and manage field teams.
  • Familiarity with basic legal recovery tools like notices, arbitration, SARFAESI, etc. will be an added advantage.
  • Comfortable travelling within city for field visits, customer meetings and agency reviews when required.
