Role Overview

We are hiring detail-oriented and organized Store Incharges for leading garment export company in Tamilnadu. You will be responsible for managing the complete store operations including receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of fabrics, trims, accessories, and packing materials.

Tamilnadu is a major hub for apparel exports and textile manufacturing โ€” this role offers exposure to woven and knit categories, interaction with production and merchandising teams, and opportunities to work with global brands. Ideal for candidates with 2โ€“8 years of experience in garment store management.

๐Ÿ“ฆ Material Receipt ๐Ÿ“Š Inventory Control ๐Ÿ“„ GRN & Documentation ๐Ÿ” Stock Audit ๐Ÿค Team Coordination

Key Responsibilities

  • Material Receipt & Verification: Ensure proper receipt of all incoming fabrics, trims, and accessories. Verify quantity and quality against purchase orders and generate accurate Goods Receipt Notes (GRN).
  • Inventory Management: Maintain updated and accurate stock records (physical & system). Implement FIFO/FEFO practices. Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and trigger reorders when required.
  • Material Issuance: Ensure timely issuance of fabrics and trims to cutting and production departments as per approved requisitions. Maintain proper records of issue slips and return notes.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain all store documents โ€” GRNs, gate passes, indents, issue slips, and bin cards. Ensure real-time and error-free entry into ERP/inventory software. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.
  • Stock Audits & Reconciliation: Conduct regular physical stock verification. Reconcile system stock with physical stock and investigate discrepancies. Support internal and external auditors during audits.
  • Storage & Housekeeping: Ensure proper storage of fabrics, trims, and accessories to prevent damage, moisture, or pest infestation. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the store.
  • Team Management: Supervise store assistants and helpers. Allocate tasks and ensure smooth store operations.
  • Coordination: Liaise with production, merchandising, purchase, and quality teams for material availability and requirements.
  • Wastage Control: Monitor and control material wastage during issue and return processes. Maintain records of damaged or rejected materials.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure store operations comply with safety standards and company policies.

Candidate Profile

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Diploma in Materials Management is preferred.
  • Experience: 2โ€“8 years in store management within the garment or textile industry. Export house experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of fabric types, trims, accessories, and packing materials used in garment manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software / ERP systems.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills for maintaining stock registers and generating reports.
  • Understanding of FIFO/FEFO principles and material handling best practices.
  • Good communication and coordination skills for liaising with various departments.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for inventory reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles is an added advantage.
