About the Front Office Receptionist Role
Hiring Front Office Receptionists in Chennai to manage reception desk, welcome visitors and guests, answer phone calls and support basic front office administration work.
The receptionist will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers and will help in smooth day-to-day operations at the front desk area.
Key Responsibilities

Visitor Greeting & Check-In
Greet and welcome visitors, guests or patients in a polite manner, register their details in the system or visitor log and guide them to the correct person or department.

Handling Phone Calls
Answer, screen and transfer incoming calls, share basic information, take clear messages when required and ensure calls reach the right staff members quickly.

Front Desk Administration
Keep reception area tidy, manage front desk stationery and forms, handle mail and courier receipts and assist with simple data entry, filing and appointment scheduling tasks.

Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with internal departments for visitor needs, meeting room bookings and follow-ups and share timely updates or messages with concerned teams and managers.

Security & Records
Follow basic security and access procedures at reception, issue visitor passes when required and maintain accurate records of visitors, calls and front office reports.
Candidate Requirements

Education
+2 or any degree; hotel management or front office course will be an added advantage for hotel reception roles.

Experience
0–4 years experience as receptionist, front office executive or customer service staff in hotel, hospital, clinic, corporate office or similar setup; freshers with good communication may also apply.

Skills
Good communication skills, pleasant handling of visitors, basic computer and email knowledge and ability to manage multiple calls and enquiries at the same time.

Presentable appearance, polite attitude, punctuality and willingness to work in reception timings, including weekends or shifts where the role demands.
