About the Credit Analyst Role

Hiring experienced Credit Analysts in Chennai banks and NBFCs to evaluate loan applications, analyse financial statements and assess creditworthiness of individuals and businesses.

Analysts will work closely with sales, credit managers and risk teams to recommend loan amounts, terms and structures in line with policy and risk appetite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis & Credit Appraisal

    Analyse financial statements, bank statements, income proofs and other documents to understand cash flows, profitability, leverage and repayment capacity of borrowers.

  • Risk Assessment & Recommendation

    Identify key risks in the proposal, evaluate collateral and security, assign internal risk grades and prepare credit notes with clear recommendation on approval, decline or modifications.

  • Policy & Regulatory Compliance

    Ensure that all proposals comply with internal credit policy, RBI and regulatory guidelines and highlight deviations with proper justifications wherever applicable.

  • Portfolio Monitoring & Reviews

    Track performance of existing borrowers through periodic reviews, monitoring of overdues and early warning signals and suggest corrective actions where required.

  • Coordination & Documentation

    Coordinate with relationship managers, operations and legal teams for clarifications, documentation and sanction process and maintain proper records of all credit decisions.

Candidate Requirements

  • Education

    Graduate or post graduate in commerce, finance, economics or related field; CA, CFA or MBA Finance preferred for higher ticket and corporate credit roles.

  • Experience

    2–7 years experience as credit analyst, credit manager or underwriter in bank, NBFC or financial institution handling retail, SME or corporate loans.

  • Skills

    Strong financial analysis and ratio analysis skills, good understanding of lending products and risk, proficiency in Excel and report writing and ability to take balanced credit decisions.

  • Others

    Detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers and data, ability to meet timelines and coordinate with multiple stakeholders on a daily basis.
