About the Collection / Recovery Manager Role
Hiring experienced Collection / Recovery Managers in Chennai for banks and NBFCs to manage field and tele-collection teams for retail loan and credit card portfolios.
Managers will be responsible for portfolio health, reduction of delinquencies and NPAs, target achievement and adherence to RBI and company collection guidelines.
Key Responsibilities

Team Management
Handle a team of collection executives and agencies, allocate buckets / pin codes, drive daily field and calling activities and review performance through regular meetings and joint field visits.

Portfolio & Target Management
Monitor portfolio buckets (current, soft, hard, write-off), track roll rates and resolution, analyse MIS and ensure achievement of monthly collection and recovery targets with controlled costs.

Strategy & Process Implementation
Implement collection strategies and dunning plans given by regional or head office, suggest local level action for skip tracing, repossession or legal and ensure process adherence by team and agencies.

Compliance & Audit
Ensure team follows RBI fair practices code and internal collection policies, handle customer complaints, support audits and ensure documentation and call recordings are properly maintained.

Co-ordination & Reporting
Co-ordinate with branch, sales, credit, legal and operations teams for resolution, settlements and repossessions and send daily, weekly and monthly collection reports to higher management.
Candidate Requirements

Education
Any graduate; MBA / PG in finance, banking or related field preferred for senior manager roles.

Experience
4–12 years experience in collections or recovery in banks, NBFCs or collection agencies with at least 2–3 years team-handling exposure in retail assets or cards.

Skills
Strong people management and negotiation skills, good understanding of collection processes, legal and repossession procedures and ability to work with data and MIS for decision making.

Two-wheeler and licence preferred, willingness to travel extensively within allocated area in Chennai and flexible to work extended hours around month-end and heavy collection periods.
