About the Cath Lab Technician Role
Hiring Cath Lab Technicians in Chennai hospitals to assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization, angiogram, angioplasty, stent placement and other interventional cardiology procedures in the cath lab.
Cath lab technicians will prepare patients and equipment, monitor vitals, handle imaging systems and support the medical team to ensure safe and smooth procedures inside the cath lab.
Key Responsibilities

Patient Preparation
Prepare patients for cath lab procedures by checking vital signs, positioning on the cath lab table, connecting monitors and explaining basic steps of the procedure to reduce anxiety.

Assisting During Procedures
Assist cardiologists during angiogram, angioplasty, stent placement and other cardiac interventions by handling catheters, guide wires, contrast injection and other procedure-related tasks as directed.

Equipment Operation & Monitoring
Operate cath lab imaging and monitoring equipment, observe ECG, blood pressure and oxygen saturation continuously and promptly report any abnormal readings to the cardiologist or anaesthetist.

Sterility & Safety
Maintain sterile field, follow radiation safety guidelines, check all instruments and disposables before procedures and support infection control practices inside the cath lab at all times.

Post-Procedure Support & Documentation
Assist in post-procedure patient shifting and monitoring, clean and restock the lab, record procedure details in hospital systems and support audits and quality protocols of the hospital.
Candidate Requirements

Education
Diploma or BSc in Cath Lab Technology / Cardiac Technology / Radiology / OT Technology or related allied health sciences from a recognised institution.

Experience
1–5 years experience working in hospital cath lab, cardiac OT or interventional radiology; freshers with internship exposure in cath lab may be considered for junior roles in some hospitals.

Skills
Good knowledge of cath lab procedures and cardiac anatomy, ability to operate imaging and monitoring equipment, maintain sterility and stay calm during emergencies inside the lab.

Willing to work in shifts, emergency calls and extended hours based on procedure schedule and ready to work in multispeciality or cardiac hospitals across Chennai.
