About the Catering Manager Role
Hiring experienced Catering Managers in Chennai hotels and banquet halls to manage banquet operations, events, food service and guest satisfaction for functions and parties.
The catering manager will plan menus with chefs, coordinate with sales and guests, schedule staff and ensure smooth execution of weddings, conferences and corporate events as per hotel standards.
Key Responsibilities

Banquet & Event Operations
Oversee complete banquet operations for events, ensure halls are set as per Banquet Event Order (BEO), coordinate food and beverage service and handle any on-the-spot changes during functions.

Menu Planning & Coordination
Work with chefs and F&B team to plan function menus, customise packages based on guest requirements and ensure taste, portion and presentation meet hotel standards.

Client Handling & Sales Support
Meet clients, understand event requirements, explain menu and hall options, support sales team in finalising bookings and be the main contact for guests on the event day.

Team Management
Supervise banquet captains, stewards and casual staff, schedule shifts, brief the team before events and ensure high quality of service, grooming and discipline during operations.

Cost Control & Quality
Monitor food cost and wastage during functions, ensure proper billing of extra items, maintain hygiene and safety standards and support management in improving guest feedback scores.
Candidate Requirements

Education
Hotel management degree / diploma or catering qualification; strong F&B or banquet background in star hotels preferred.

Experience
5–12 years experience in hotels or large banquet halls, with minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory or assistant manager level in catering or banquets.

Skills
Strong communication and guest handling, team leadership, menu and event planning skills, ability to handle high-pressure functions and long event hours when required.

Ready to work flexible hours, weekends and late evenings depending on event schedule and be based at hotels or banquet halls in Chennai.
