About the Hotel Cashier Role
Hiring Hotel Cashiers in Chennai to handle guest billing, restaurant bills and cash / card payments at hotel front office and outlets.
The cashier will operate POS or billing software, issue bills and receipts, balance cash and support smooth check-out and restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities

Guest Billing
Prepare and print bills for rooms, food and beverages or banquet services, check rates and taxes and ensure correct posting in the system.

Cash and Card Handling
Collect payments in cash, card, UPI or other modes, issue receipts, return correct balance and follow hotel cash handling procedures.

Shift Cash Closing
Count cash at start and end of shift, tally with system reports, prepare daily cash summary and hand over cash to accounts or front office as per policy.

Customer Service
Greet guests, answer basic billing doubts, coordinate with stewards, front office or kitchen team and maintain a polite and professional attitude at all times.

Records and Compliance
Maintain proper bill files, support audit requirements and follow hotel standards for discounts, complimentary bills and approvals.
Candidate Requirements

Education
Any degree or diploma; hotel management or commerce background preferred for some hotels.

Experience
1–5 years experience as cashier, billing staff or front office associate in hotel / restaurant; fresher hotel management graduates may be considered for trainee roles.

Skills
Basic computer and POS knowledge, fast and accurate billing, simple English and local language communication and attention to detail in cash handling.

Ready to work in shifts, weekends and holidays as per hotel rotation and to be stationed at hotel or restaurant outlets in Chennai.
