Hiring Carpenters in Chennai construction companies to do shuttering, formwork and finishing carpentry work at residential and commercial project sites.

The carpenter will work with site engineers and supervisors to prepare wooden and steel formwork, install doors and windows and support concrete and finishing activities at the site.

• Shuttering and Formwork

  Prepare and fix shuttering and formwork for beams, columns, slabs, retaining walls and other RCC structures as per drawings and measurements given by site engineer.

• Measurement and Cutting

  Measure, mark and cut wood or plywood accurately, assemble panels and supports using nails, screws or clamps and ensure proper alignment and level.

• Concrete Support

  Check formwork before concrete pouring, ensure proper supports and bracing, help during concreting and remove shuttering safely after setting time.

• Finishing Carpentry

  Install and adjust doors, windows, frames and simple furniture or partition work at sites when required by the construction company.

• Safety and Tools Care

  Use hand tools and power tools carefully, wear basic safety gear and keep carpentry tools and work area clean and in good condition at the site.

• Education

  Basic schooling; ITI carpenter or similar trade certification will be an added advantage.

• Experience

  2–10 years experience as construction carpenter or shuttering carpenter in building, infrastructure or civil projects.

• Skills

  Good knowledge of measurement, cutting and joining of wood and plywood, ability to read simple drawings and follow instructions of site engineer or supervisor.

• Others

  Physically fit, ready to work at heights or scaffolding with safety and willing to work extra hours during major concreting or project deadlines in Chennai.
