About the Business Development Role (Insurance)
Hiring Business Development professionals in Chennai for leading life and health insurance companies to acquire new customers and grow policy business through direct and channel sales.
The role includes meeting customers, explaining insurance plans, managing advisors or partners and ensuring monthly premium collection and renewal targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities

New Business Generation
Prospect and identify potential customers for life and health insurance products through field visits, references, cold calls and digital leads.

Customer Meetings and Sales
Fix appointments, meet customers, understand their financial and protection needs and recommend suitable insurance plans and riders.

Channel and Advisor Management
Recruit and support insurance advisors or POS agents where applicable, train them on products and help them close business from their network.

Policy Issuance and Renewals
Ensure timely documentation, proposal form submission, medicals and policy issuance and follow up for renewal premium collection from existing customers.

Targets and Reporting
Achieve monthly and quarterly business targets, maintain MIS on leads, meetings, closures and share regular reports with the branch or area manager.
Candidate Requirements

Education
Any graduate; candidates with NISM / IRDA certifications or finance related qualifications will have an advantage.

Experience
1–6 years experience in insurance, banking, financial products or direct sales; high-performing freshers with strong sales interest can also apply in some roles.

Skills
Good communication and presentation skills, convincing ability, basic knowledge of insurance products and strong target orientation.

Ready for regular field work and customer meetings in Chennai and nearby areas and to work as per branch timings and company policies.
