About the Bank Teller Role
Hiring Bank Teller in a private bank Chennai, to work at the cash counter, process deposits and withdrawals, handle cheques and support customers with basic banking services.
The teller will be the first point of contact at the branch, ensuring accurate cash handling, fast service and polite communication with walk-in customers throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities

Cash Counter Transactions
Process deposits, withdrawals, cheque encashment and fund transfers as per bank procedures, ensuring correct amount and account details in every transaction.

Cash Handling & Balancing
Maintain sufficient cash in drawer, count cash accurately and balance the cash position at the beginning and end of the day shift.

Customer Service
Answer customer queries regarding account balance, statements, ATM issues and basic products, and guide them to the right counter or officer when needed.

KYC & Compliance
Verify identity documents where required, follow KYC and AML guidelines and ensure branch policies and RBI regulations are adhered to during transactions.

Cross-selling Support
Inform customers about savings accounts, fixed deposits, cards and digital channels, and refer interested customers to relationship managers or sales officers.
Candidate Requirements

Education
Any graduate (preferably B.Com / BBA / finance-related degree) with strong numerical ability and basic computer knowledge.

Experience
0–4 years experience as bank teller, cashier or in banking/financial customer service; freshers with good communication can be considered for trainee roles.

Skills
Good accuracy in cash handling, attention to detail, polite customer interaction, ability to work under pressure during peak customer hours.

Other Requirements
Integrity, confidentiality, willingness to follow strict bank procedures and readiness to work in branch timings including some Saturdays.
