About the Baker Role
Hiring Baker in Chennai for branded bakery to prepare fresh breads, buns, cakes, pastries and other baked items daily.
The baker will follow recipes, measure ingredients, operate ovens and mixers, decorate cakes and maintain high standards of taste, appearance and hygiene in the bakery section.
Key Responsibilities

Preparation of Dough & Batters
Measure and mix ingredients for breads, pizzas, cakes and pastries as per standard recipes and production plan.

Baking & Oven Handling
Operate ovens safely, monitor baking time and temperature and ensure products are baked evenly without burning.

Cake Decoration & Finishing
Frost and decorate cakes and pastries using creams, ganache and toppings according to order requirements and display standards.

Stock & Quality Control
Check quality of ingredients, manage stock rotation (FIFO) and minimise wastage by planning production according to demand.

Kitchen Hygiene & Safety
Maintain cleanliness of work area, equipment and utensils, follow food safety rules and personal hygiene standards at all times.
Candidate Requirements

Experience
1–6 years experience as baker / commis baker / pastry chef in bakery, cake shop, hotel or restaurant kitchen; strong practical skills are must.

Skills
Good knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, proofing and cake decoration; ability to work fast during peak hours.

Working Hours
Ready to work in early morning or split shifts, weekends and festivals when bakery demand is high.

Education
Hotel management / bakery course preferred, but experienced bakers without formal course can also apply.
