Automobile Service Technician Jobs in Chennai

Hiring Automobile Service Technician in Chennai for authorised and multi-brand car and bike workshops to perform routine service, mechanical repairs and basic electrical work on vehicles.

The technician will diagnose customer complaints, carry out scheduled maintenance, replace parts as required and ensure quality service delivery as per workshop and OEM standards.

• Vehicle Service & Maintenance

  Carry out periodic maintenance service, oil change, filter replacement, brake service, wheel related work and general check-up as per job card.

• Repair & Troubleshooting

  Identify mechanical and basic electrical issues in engine, suspension, clutch, gearbox and other systems, and perform necessary repairs or part replacement.

• Job Card & Parts Handling

  Follow job card instructions, update work status, request required parts from store and ensure correct usage and return of tools and equipment.

• Quality & Safety Compliance

  Adhere to workshop safety rules, use proper PPE, follow standard repair procedures and ensure work quality before vehicle delivery.

• Customer Focus

  Support service advisor with technical explanation when needed, help in test drives and ensure customer complaints are fully resolved.

• Education

  ITI / Diploma in Automobile, Mechanical or related trade; candidates with strong hands-on workshop experience can also apply.

• Experience

  1–6 years experience as automobile technician / mechanic in car or bike workshop; fresher with good practical training may be considered as helper/trainee.

• Technical Skills

  Good knowledge of vehicle systems, ability to use basic tools, lifting equipment and willingness to learn new diagnostic methods and technologies.

• Other Requirements

  Physically fit, ready to work in standing position, overtime during peak season and maintain discipline and team coordination inside workshop.
