About the Audiologist Role

Hiring Audiologist in Chennai for a hospital to conduct hearing evaluations, interpret test results and recommend suitable rehabilitation options for patients.

The audiologist will work with ENT specialists, speech therapists and counselling teams to deliver comprehensive hearing care services for children, adults and elderly patients across outpatient and inpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audiological Evaluation

    Conduct pure tone audiometry, impedance audiometry, speech audiometry and other relevant tests to assess degree and type of hearing loss.

  • Hearing Aid Fitting

    Recommend appropriate hearing aids, perform ear impressions, programming, fitting and fine-tuning based on patient’s audiogram and lifestyle needs.

  • Patient Counselling

    Explain test results, counsel patients and family members on hearing loss, device usage, maintenance and realistic expectations from rehabilitation.

  • Documentation & Reporting

    Maintain accurate audiology records, reports for ENT doctors, device warranty details and follow-up schedules in hospital/clinic software systems.

  • Clinical Coordination

    Coordinate with ENT consultants, speech therapists and nursing staff for combined treatment plans, pre- and post-operative counselling and screening camps.

Candidate Requirements

  • Education

    BASLP / MASLP / M.Sc Audiology from recognised university; RCI registration preferred as per regulations.

  • Experience

    1–7 years experience as audiologist in hospital, ENT clinic or hearing care centre; fresh postgraduates with strong clinical exposure may also apply.

  • Technical Skills

    Hands-on experience with audiometers, tympanometers, OAE/BERA equipment and hearing aid programming software from major brands.

  • Soft Skills

    Good communication, patient-friendly approach, ability to handle paediatric cases and willingness to participate in camps and awareness programs.
