About the Role
Hiring Assistant Manager for a leading bank in Chennai to manage daily branch operations, customer service, retail banking sales and a small team at the branch level. This opportunity is ideal for graduates/postgraduates with 3-7 years experience in branch banking, relationship management or banking operations.
Key Responsibilities

Branch Operations
Oversee day-to-day banking operations including account opening, cash operations, clearing, vault management and adherence to bank SOPs and RBI guidelines.

Customer Service
Handle escalated customer queries, resolve service issues, ensure high customer satisfaction and build long-term relationships with retail and SME customers.

Sales & Business Growth
Drive branch targets for CASA, term deposits, insurance, loans and other retail banking products by cross-selling and supporting relationship managers.

Team Supervision
Guide and support teller and customer service teams, monitor productivity, provide on-the-job training and ensure compliance with processes.

Compliance & Audit
Ensure KYC/AML compliance, prepare periodic reports, support internal/external audits and implement corrective actions for observations.
Requirements

Education
Any Graduate (preferably B.Com/BBA) or Postgraduate (MBA/PGDM in Finance/Banking) from a recognised university.

Experience
3-7 years experience in branch banking / relationship management / operations in a bank or NBFC; prior team-handling exposure preferred.

Skills
Strong knowledge of retail banking products, core banking systems, KYC/AML norms, sales orientation and customer handling skills.

Excellent communication, leadership mindset, target-driven approach and willingness to work extended hours during month-end/quarter-end.
