About the ANM Staff Nurse Role
Hiring ANM Staff Nurse in Chennai for multi-speciality hospitals, maternity centres and clinics to provide basic nursing care, monitor patients and support doctors in day-to-day clinical activities.
The nurse will work in wards, OPD, emergency or ICU based on hospital requirement, ensuring quality patient care, proper documentation and adherence to hospital nursing protocols and infection control guidelines.
Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Monitoring
Provide bedside nursing care, assist in activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, record intake/output and promptly report changes in patient condition to duty doctor.

Nursing Procedures
Perform basic nursing procedures such as IV line assistance, injections as per orders, wound dressing, catheter care and sample collection following aseptic techniques.

Medication Administration
Administer medicines as per prescription, maintain drug charts, check expiry dates and ensure correct dosage, route and time for each patient.

Patient Education & Counselling
Educate patients and attendants on treatment plan, diet, discharge instructions and follow-up visits, maintaining polite and compassionate communication.

Documentation & Coordination
Update nursing notes, maintain reports, coordinate with doctors, lab, pharmacy and other departments to ensure smooth patient care and timely investigations.
Candidate Requirements

Education & Registration
ANM / GNM in Nursing from recognised institute with valid nursing council registration; additional courses in critical care or maternity care are an advantage.

Experience
0–5 years experience as staff nurse in hospital ward, ICU, NICU, emergency or maternity; freshers can apply for trainee / junior staff nurse positions.

Skills & Competencies
Strong patient care attitude, good clinical knowledge, ability to work in team with doctors and other nurses, and willingness to learn hospital protocols quickly.

Shifts & Language
Ready to work in rotational shifts, night duty and weekends as per roster; ability to communicate in Tamil with basic English for documentation and doctor interaction.
