About the Network Engineer – ACT Fibernet Role
ACT Fibernet is hiring Network Engineers in Pimpri-Chinchwad to manage its growing IP backbone, GPON access network and subscriber management infrastructure serving hundreds of thousands of broadband subscribers across Pimpri-Chinchwad.
Candidates with CCNA or equivalent certification, hands-on experience in IP routing, GPON OLT management and broadband subscriber networking at ISPs in Pimpri-Chinchwad or Maharashtra are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- IP Network Management
Configure and maintain ACT Fibernet's IP routers, BRAS/BNG and core switches; manage OSPF, BGP routing and VLAN infrastructure.
- GPON OLT Operations
Manage ACT Fibernet's GPON OLT fleet; provision new subscribers, maintain OLT health and resolve port-level access issues.
- Broadband Subscriber Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve subscriber connectivity issues including PPPoE authentication failures, OLT port problems and CPE configuration errors.
- Network Performance Monitoring
Monitor ACT Fibernet network KPIs including bandwidth utilisation, latency and packet loss; generate performance reports for management.
- Capacity Planning
Track subscriber growth and bandwidth utilisation trends; recommend OLT, uplink and core capacity additions to support ACT's Pimpri-Chinchwad expansion.
Candidate Requirements
- Education
B.E./B.Tech in ECE or CSE from a recognised university in Maharashtra; CCNA certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience
2-7 years in network engineering or ISP operations roles; direct experience with ACT Fibernet or similar broadband ISP is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills
Proficiency in Cisco/Huawei routing, GPON OLT configuration, PPPoE, RADIUS, DHCP and bandwidth management for broadband subscribers.
- Troubleshooting
Strong IP and GPON troubleshooting skills; ability to diagnose and resolve subscriber and infrastructure faults efficiently.
