Role Overview
Structural Engineer jobs in Mumbai for a company involve analysis and design of RCC and steel structures for residential, commercial and industrial projects while ensuring safety, stability and compliance with relevant IS codes and standards.
You will work on structural modelling, load calculations, design of foundations, columns, beams and slabs, preparation of drawings and coordination with architects, MEP consultants and site teams during execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Study architectural drawings, client requirements and project specifications and propose suitable structural systems.
- Perform structural analysis and design of RCC and steel elements using STAAD/ETABS or similar software and manual calculations.
- Design foundations, columns, beams, slabs, staircases and retaining walls as per relevant IS codes and safety factors.
- Prepare and review structural GA drawings, reinforcement detailing and bar bending schedules in coordination with drafting team.
- Check stability against gravity, wind, seismic and other loads and provide design clarifications to site and contractors.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP and project teams to resolve design issues, site constraints and drawing discrepancies.
- Conduct site visits to inspect reinforcement, formwork and structural works and ensure execution as per approved drawings.
- Maintain project documentation, design reports, calculation sheets and revision history for all assigned projects.
Candidate Profile
- B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering; M.E / M.Tech in Structural Engineering preferred.
- 0–3 years experience as Structural Engineer / Structural Design Engineer in consultancy or construction company; freshers with strong technical skills can also apply.
- Good knowledge of IS codes for RCC and steel design and basics of seismic and wind design for buildings.
- Proficiency in STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE, AutoCAD or similar design and drafting software.
- Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and willingness to coordinate with site for design implementation.
