Role Overview
Medical Transcriptionist jobs in Mumbai for a company involve listening to recorded dictations from doctors and healthcare professionals and typing them into clear, structured medical reports.
You will use transcription software, medical terminology knowledge and good English skills to prepare discharge summaries, consultation notes and investigation reports and then update them into electronic medical records as per client format.
Key Responsibilities
- Listen to audio files or voice recordings of doctors and accurately transcribe them into medical documents.
- Type and format reports such as discharge summaries, operative notes, radiology reports and clinic notes as per client templates.
- Edit and correct drafts generated by speech recognition software to remove errors and improve clarity.
- Expand medical abbreviations and acronyms into full forms and use correct medical terminology and spelling.
- Check reports for inconsistencies, missing information, grammar and punctuation errors before submission.
- Upload or enter completed reports into hospital / clinic EMR systems or company platforms within given timelines.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow company policies on data security and information protection.
- Meet daily productivity and quality targets for number of lines / reports and accuracy percentage.
Candidate Profile
- Any degree or diploma with good English; medical transcription training or experience is preferred.
- 0–3 years experience as Medical Transcriptionist / Editor; freshers with MT course can also apply.
- Good listening skills, strong typing speed and basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terms.
- Comfortable working on computers, using headsets, transcription software and online EMR platforms.
- Willingness to work in evening or night shifts if required for US / international healthcare clients.
