Role Overview

We are hiring an experienced Purchase Manager for a leading hotel in Kannur. This is a single-property role responsible for managing the complete procurement cycle for food, beverages, kitchen equipment, housekeeping supplies, and all operational items required for the hotel's day-to-day operations.

This role is ideal for a procurement professional with hospitality experience who can manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, ensure timely deliveries, and maintain optimal inventory levels for a single hotel property.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end procurement for the hotel including food, beverages, kitchen supplies, housekeeping items, and operational equipment.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term vendor relationships.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all purchased items while maintaining quality standards.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing to optimize procurement costs.
  • Coordinate with department heads (kitchen, housekeeping, F&B) to understand their requirements and plan purchases accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate purchase records, inventory levels, and reorder points.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, food safety standards, and hygiene regulations.
  • Manage import purchases and customs clearance for specialized items if required.
  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and vendor performance.
  • Resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or billing with vendors.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline (MBA in Supply Chain / Materials Management preferred).
  • 5–10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage products, hotel supplies, and procurement processes.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Excel.
  • Understanding of food safety standards and hotel operations.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Tamil.
  • Ability to work independently and make strategic purchasing decisions.
