Role Overview
Organisations across Raichur are scaling their workforce in line with Karnataka's expanding financial services, retail, and healthcare economy, with Occupational Therapist among the priority roles being filled.
You will use functional activities, exercises, adaptive techniques and assistive devices to help patients develop motor, sensory, cognitive and social skills and work closely with doctors, physiotherapists, speech therapists and special educators.
Key Responsibilities
- Recommend and train in use of splints, seating systems, special writing aids and other assistive devices to enhance function.
- Maintain accurate therapy records, progress notes, reports and outcome measures as per hospital documentation standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions and awareness programs related to rehabilitation and occupational therapy.
- Assess patients’ functional abilities, sensory and motor skills, daily living skills and participation in school, work or home activities.
- Develop individualised occupational therapy treatment plans with short‑term and long‑term goals based on assessment findings.
- Conduct therapy sessions using play, task‑oriented and activity‑based interventions to improve fine motor, gross motor, balance and coordination.
- Train patients in activities of daily living such as dressing, feeding, writing, toileting and basic self‑care using adaptive methods or devices.
- Advise and train parents, caregivers and teachers on home programs, classroom modifications and behaviour management techniques.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor / Master in Occupational Therapy from recognised institution with registration as per state / national council norms.
- 0–3 years experience as Occupational Therapist in hospital, rehab centre, paediatric clinic or special school; freshers can also apply.
- Interest and skills in working with paediatric, adult neurological, orthopedic or mental health cases.
- Good communication, counselling skills and ability to guide parents, caregivers and patients patiently and empathetically.
- Comfortable maintaining documentation, planning home programs and coordinating with multidisciplinary rehab team.
