Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with pathologists, doctors, and hospital staff for special investigations and consultations.
- Maintain records, prepare reports for management, and assist in NABL / CAP accreditation processes.
- Supervise and coordinate daily laboratory operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely reporting of test results.
- Manage and train lab technicians and support staff, assign duties, and monitor performance.
- Ensure quality control procedures are followed for all tests (hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, etc.).
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, arrange for servicing when needed, and manage inventory of reagents and supplies.
- Review and verify test reports for accuracy before dispatch to doctors and patients.
- Implement and monitor compliance with safety protocols, infection control, and waste disposal guidelines.
Candidate Profile
- B.Sc / M.Sc in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or equivalent.
- 3โ8 years of experience in a diagnostic laboratory, with at least 1โ2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of clinical lab procedures, equipment, and quality control.
- Experience with NABL / CAP accreditation processes is highly preferred.
- Leadership skills with ability to manage a team and resolve issues.
- Good communication skills in Tamil and English (for coordination with doctors and patients).
- Computer proficiency for lab software and report generation.
Laboratory Specializations
- Hematology: Complete blood count, coagulation studies, peripheral smear.
- Biochemistry: Glucose, lipid profile, liver/kidney function tests, electrolytes.
- Microbiology: Culture & sensitivity, staining, serology.
- Pathology: Histopathology, cytology, frozen sections.
- Immunology: Hormone assays, tumor markers, ELISA.
