Key Responsibilities

  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Manage time effectively to complete orders within deadlines.
  • Stitch new garments including shirts, pants, blouses, churidars, and ethnic wear as per customer requirements.
  • Perform alterations and repairs on existing garments such as hemming, taking in/letting out, and patching.
  • Take accurate body measurements and interpret customer preferences.
  • Cut fabric according to patterns and measurements with precision.
  • Operate industrial or domestic sewing machines, overlock machines, and other tailoring equipment.
  • Maintain quality standards and ensure finished products meet customer expectations.

Candidate Profile

  • 8th / 10th / 12th pass (no specific educational requirement).
  • 1–8 years of tailoring experience (freshers with basic skills can apply for assistant roles).
  • Proficiency in using sewing machines and hand stitching techniques.
  • Knowledge of different fabrics and their handling.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and suggest suitable designs.
  • Attention to detail and quality.
  • Good communication skills in Tamil.

Types of Tailoring

  • Men's Wear: Shirts, trousers, suits, kurtas, achkan.
  • Women's Wear: Blouses, churidars, salwar kameez, lehengas, gowns.
  • Children's Wear: Frocks, shirts, shorts, ethnic wear.
  • Alterations: Hemming, waist adjustments, sleeve shortening, zipper replacement.
