About the FTTH / Fiber Broadband Engineer Role

Telecom and ISPs in New delhi are aggressively expanding FTTH networks and hiring Fiber Broadband Engineers to install, splice, test and maintain fibre optic cables and ONT/OLT equipment.

Candidates with OFC splicing experience, knowledge of GPON/EPON technology and hands-on FTTH installation skills are in high demand across New delhi's rapidly growing broadband market.

Key Responsibilities

  • FTTH Installation

    Lay fibre optic cables, splice fibres using fusion splicers and install ONT devices at residential and commercial customer premises in New delhi.

  • OLT/ONU Configuration

    Configure OLT and ONT/ONU equipment for GPON/EPON based FTTH services; provision new broadband connections as per work orders.

  • Fibre Testing & Troubleshooting

    Use OTDR and power meter to test fibre links, identify faults such as breaks and high attenuation and restore service quickly.

  • Network Expansion & Cabling

    Assist in laying underground and aerial fibre routes, installing distribution boxes, patch panels and splitter enclosures in the field.

  • Customer Activation & Support

    Activate FTTH broadband services at customer premises, test internet speed and resolve last-mile connectivity issues on-site.

Candidate Requirements

  • Education

    Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in ECE, Electronics or related field from a recognised institution; OFC splicing training is an advantage.

  • Experience

    1-4 years in FTTH installation, OFC splicing or broadband field operations at ISPs or telecom company in New delhi or Delhi.

  • Technical Skills

    Hands-on experience with fusion splicers, OTDR, GPON/EPON systems, OLT configuration and basic IP networking for broadband services.

  • Mobility

    Two-wheeler licence required; ability to work at heights for aerial cabling and in trenches for underground OFC laying.
